With Architectural Design, my mission is to create spaces of “substance, richness and value”
independent of the project size or budget.
I enjoy working with clients to jointly develop a design solution that looks great, is practical, functional, cost effective and readily buildable.
– Richard Field
Throughout the consultation process Richard was knowledgeable and able to explain things in layman’s terms to me. His work was precise and his attention to detail was much appreciated. He interpreted my requirements based around tight regulations from the ministry of education and translated them into plans that also met local government requirements which were very challenging at times.
Importantly there was a quick turn around when documents were submitted to council with no questions asked and the building consent was issued. The complete documentation that Richard supplied was invaluable when dealing with the builders.
I have no hesitation in recommending Richard to others, should they be considering a building project.

Because of living needs for our son, who is a paraplegic, a unit needed to be built to meet his needs for his daily living. Richard Field was brought in to design his unit for wheelchair use and access and Richard has done an “excellent job”. We are all happy that he is now home and happy with the outcome of his completed unit. Well done Richard.

Now that all the work is finally over I want to thank you again for all the work you have done in the restoration and conversation of my sixteenth century house. I do hope that you know how much I have appreciated your skill and expertise, especially when there were serious structural problems to be dealt with. I feel confidence now in the renewed strength and safety of the house – that it will be all right and will stand firm for the next four hundred years!
It has been a big job but the house has been saved, undoubtedly. I must say also that the ‘tender loving care’ which you brought to the finishing work gives me great pleasure, as a craftswoman myself, when I look about at it all.
Thank you very much indeed, and my best wishes to you for the future.
